EARNING CEU UNITS
2008 NATIONAL CHARTER SCHOOLS CONFERENCE
June 22-25th, 2008 New Orleans, LA
The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is pleased to offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as part of our 2008 National Charter School Conference.
We will follow the standards of the International Association of Continuing Education and Training organization by equating 1 CEU unit with 10 contact hours of participation in portions of the conference considered "organized educational experiences under capable sponsorship and qualified instruction."
EXPECTATIONS for Earning CEU units at the Conference
For each 1 qualified hour of contact at the conference, you will earn .1 CEU unit. For example, if you participate in 5 hours of contact as described below, you will earn .5 CEU units. You can earn UP TO 2 CEU units at the conference.
We are happy to partner with Arizona State University (ASU). The ASU Office of Academic and Professional Programs in the School of Extended Education will work with qualified faculty members to review the conference and appropriately award CEUs for $25 per certificate. CEUs are widely-accepted as proof of successful completion of a professional development activity and each participant will receive a certificate of the award.
REGISTRATION and FEES
There is a $25 fee for each CEU certificate awarded through ASU. To register for CEU units, please click here. This link will take you to the 2008 Conference registration page. While you are registering for the 2008 Conference, you will also be given an opportunity to register for participation in the CEU unit program. If you have already registered for the Conference and would now like to register for the CEU units, please contact registration services at 800-280-6218.
PLEASE CHECK to see that your organization or training coordinator accepts CEUs in your training or advancement program. Please note that these are NOT "C.E.s" or Continuing Education CREDITS. CEUs are NOT usually accepted as academic credit for a degree program.
If you would like to earn CEUs, please sign up to receive a certificate of completion by June 13, 2008. You must meet the requirements set forth by ASU to earn these credits.
Check back in February to view a sampling of workshops and activities that will count for participation in obtaining CEU units.
